Marshalling strip
By Saad, practising automation engineer · Updated 2026-09-25
A row of terminals inside a marshalling cabinet assigned to one field cable or group of signals.
The field cable lands on the marshalling strip; cross-wiring or prefab tails then reach the I/O card. SchematicForge stores marshalling cabinet, strip name, and terminal from/to on each signal so the loop sheet and the termination list match.
Example: PT-1001 on MC-01 strip S-1 terminals 11–12. Leave those cells blank on import and auto-assignment fills them from strip capacity.
SchematicForge uses this term in generated loop diagrams, the Loop Register, and termination lists.
